VIVIENNE WESTWOOD FOR THE ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET
Vivienne Westwood has collaborated with the English National Ballet to provide costumes for the company’s 2013 promotional images. Westwood has combined pieces from her archives along with her SS13 collection for the rebranding campaign. The English National Ballet’s goal is to celebrate modernity and tradition. This is just one more reason why we love Vivienne so much – her unconventional yet classic style.

A PEACE TREATY SS13 AT RAC
A Peace Treaty launched in 2008 when friends Farah Malik, a Pakistani Muslim, and Dana Arbib, a Libyan Jew, joined forces to create employment opportunities for skilled artisans who work in unstable sociopolitical regions. Inspired by the handcrafting cultures of the Middle East, Asia, South America and Africa, the pair set out to raise awareness of these ancient, disappearing crafting traditions, and to connect fashion connoisseurs with boutique-level artifacts from unstable areas. Through their support, these goods were elevated to high design for an international fashion market.
Each season, A PEACE TREATY travels to a region where local artisans remake an accessory and design a limited number of unique pieces. With each collection, whether jewelry or scarf, ancient handmade textile and metal smithing techniques are revived. By working with skilled craftspeople in eight different countries and employing them with above fair trade wages, APT is injecting life and trade back into local economies and invests in creating income generating opportunities for out-of-work artisans, people with disabilities and widowed women.
“ALOHA” MARA HOFFMAN SS13
We’re getting super excited for the arrival of Mara Hoffman’s SS13 collection. The inspiration was “Aloha” and the tropical island theme can be seen throughout the entire collection. Bold colours mixed with original Polynesian prints are used in relaxed silhouettes. Sheer and cut-out dresses, board shorts and hula skirts are all present in this Hawaiian voyage.
